Wind gusts up to 80 km/h likely

A special weather statement is in effect in Chatham-Kent, as strong winds are expected today.

Environment Canada officials say strong southwest winds will shift to northwest today in the wake of a sharp arctic cold front.

Wind gusts of 80 km/h are likely in many areas later this morning and afternoon, forecasters say.

Strong winds will slowly diminish tonight.

Isolated power outages may be issues to deal with due to the strong winds.

The strong and gusty winds will result in difficult driving conditions at times.
