Crash leads to impaired driving charges in St. Clair

A crash has led to impaired driving charges in St. Clair Township.

Lambton OPP officials allege that on April 7 at 9 p.m. the OPP were on general patrol near the intersection of 40 Highway and Wilkesport Line in St. Clair Township when they witnessed a collision between a Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a GMC flatbed tow truck.

Police allege that due to the OPP witnessing the collision and the rapid response, the OPP determined that the driver of the Dodge Ram pick-up truck was at fault; failing to yield for the tow truck that had been south bound on 40 Highway.

Additional investigation resulted in the driver of the Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a 23 year-old man from St. Clair Township, being arrested and charged for the alleged offences of drive while impaired and operate a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his blood.

He is to appear at the Sarnia Court House in order to address the allegations on April 23, 2018.

No injuries were reported.
