Events: Taxi bylaw, Biz After Hours, Walpole open house

The Clash of the Sirens event is taking place Saturday at the St. Clair College Healthplex between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. as teams from the Chatham-Kent Police, OPP, Fire & Emergency Services and Medavie EMS participate in a fitness challenge. The event will feature teams of four competing in three separate, but gruelling, first responder related challenges organized by Blair’s Bootcamp. All money raised will go to support Chatham’s Hope Haven.

A public consultation meeting to discuss a draft bylaw, which recommends repealing the current Taxi Bylaw and replacing it with a Vehicle for Hire Bylaw, will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Chatham. Anyone wishing to speak to this matter at the public meeting is invited to do so.

The Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting Business After Hours on Thursday April 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McNaughton Family Dental. Cost is ​$5. Co- hosting the event is the International Plowing Match organization.

Walpole Island First Nation is holding an Open House on April 18, 2018 at the Sports Complex from 2 p .m. to 6 p.m. Join them to learn about all of the projects they’ve been working on throughout the year.

A Think Healthy Event is coming to the Old Czech Hall in Dresden on April 21st. Demonstrations and speakers will be held from 10-4 at the event. Admission is free and there will be free draws at each vendor table.

As Art Elation Exhibition will be held on April 21 at the Wallaceburg & District Museum.
The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will featured the art of Suebie.

Larry Cornelis is presenting ‘Bring Nature to Your Backyard’ at the Chatham Library on April 26. This is the final installment of the Sydenham Field Naturalists Winter Speaker Series.

And finally…

The Wallaceburg Concert Band will be performing at WDSS on Saturday, April 28. The group will be performing ‘2018: A Musical Odyssey’ The performance is at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
