Arrest made after shoplifting complaint at No Frills

A Wallaceburg man faces charges after a shoplifting complaint at No Frills in Wallaceburg on Tuesday night.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege the man was observed concealing meat, cookies and chocolate bars under his clothing.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of approximately $85 worth of food.

Through investigation, employees recognized the man as being responsible for previous thefts earlier in the week.

The 31-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was also arrested on outstanding warrants for property related offences, breaching his release conditions and failing to attend court.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing
