Red Devils top Niagara, hosting Windsor on Sunday

The Wallaceburg Red Devils rattled off their 9th straight win on Saturday, hanging on to beat the Niagara Thunderhawks by a score of 13-8.

The Red Devils are now 10-1 on the season, good for first place in the Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse League’s Far West division.

MacCoy Abrams led the Red Devils with a 5-point night, scoring 4 goals and adding 1 assist.

Kyle Dawson scored 2 more goals and added 1 assist in the win. The forward now sits in second place in the entire league with 35 goals in 10 games. His 57-points ranks third in the entire league as well.

Brayden Bell made 34 saves for the victory.

The Red Devils will welcome their heated rivals, the Windsor Clippers, to town on Sunday.

Windsor is 9-3 on the season, second in the Far West division.

The Clippers, who ousted Wallaceburg from the playoffs last season, handed Wallaceburg their only loss so far this year, a 16-12 final back on April 22.

The game gets underway at 4 p.m.
