Youth Art Show held at Wallaceburg Museum
The Youth Art Show presentation night was held on Friday night at the Wallaceburg and District Museum.
It is Organizers say the event has been growing considerably over the last few years and they now have the support of the Wallaceburg Council for the Arts.
The group raised enough funds to present two cash prizes to each Grade, plus three door prizes and some special recognition prizes for two students with special needs.
The prize sponsors were the Arts Council and the Knights of Columbus.
Around 70 people attended the prize giving event on Friday with students from A.A. Wright, St. Elizabeth, Wallaceburg District Secondary School, and H.W. Burgess, along with some private entries, all competing for prizes.
There were five judges and they had to choose from 417 entries.
There was only one entry per student, which means 417 students from Wallaceburg were part of this year’s show.
Organizers say this is intended to be an annual event showcasing student’s artwork, and it is the only one of its kind in this area.
