The board members of the Chatham Girls Hockey Association (CGHA) and the Kent County Girls Hockey Association (KCGHA) are excited to announce they have formed a partnership for 2019-2020 hockey season.

This partnership is fully endorsed by Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA), officials stated in a media release.

“A partnership of the associations is in the best interest of the girls and will better position Chatham-Kent to continue to offer girls the opportunity to participate in girls’ hockey at a variety of levels,” officials say.

“The new association will be known as the Chatham-Kent Girls Hockey Association (CKGHA). All existing and future female hockey players in Chatham-Kent will have the opportunity to submit ideas for a new mascot and team colours through a contest being kicked off before the end of the year. Details will be announced in the coming months.”

The boards will work together to prepare for coaching selections and competitive team tryouts in the
spring.

Information sessions will be held in the coming months for those interested in learning more.
