Poppy box donations stolen in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 8, 2018 shortly after 9 p.m. a man and woman entered McDonaldā€™s in Wallaceburg and stole the Remembrance Day poppy box containing all the donation money.

Through investigation, police identified both the man and woman.

Last night, police located the man and he was charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

The 24-year-old man of no fixed address was also arrested on outstanding warrants for shoplifting from Walmart, failing to attend for his fingerprints and failing to attend court.

Police continue to look for the 33-year-old woman of no fixed address.
