RIDE check nets zero impaired charges, roadside tests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday night, police conducted a RIDE spot check in Wallaceburg.

Approximately 250 vehicles were stopped and checked with no roadside tests being conducted.

Two motorists were however issued tickets for driving with expired val tags.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that RIDE spot checks will increase through the holiday season in an effort to keep our roads safe.

If you believe someone is driving while impaired, please call 911 – you could be saving someone’s life.

If you are enjoying festive beverages, please plan for a safe ride home.

Use a designated driver, call a cab or stay overnight.
