Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last Monday morning, around 1:30 a.m. police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Park Avenue West near Bloomfield Road.
Through investigation, police learned that the driver was forced into his vehicle and threatened with a weapon after an altercation at a residence in Chatham.
After the crash, the man in the car stole the driver’s wallet and cell phone and was picked up by a trio who was following them.
Police have identified all four people responsible.
A 24-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, both of Chatham, have been arrested and charged with robbery and kidnapping.
They were transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
The man has been remanded into custody until December 17, 2018.
The woman was released with a future court date of January 4, 2019.
Police continue to look for the other man and woman involved.
The driver, a 24-year-old Leamington man, was not physically injured.
