Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: On December 20, 2018 at approximately 1 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 401 near Chatham.
A tractor trailer caught fire in the eastbound lanes near the 95 kilometer marker and necessitated a full eastbound closure of the highway overnight and into the morning.
An extensive cleanup and removal of the vehicles load of produce was conducted and the highway is expected to reopen at approximately 9:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
