‘Going ape’ at the Salvation Army Christmas kettle

On Friday Dec 21, the Wallaceburg Veterans, First Responders and Families Support Group volunteered at the Salvation Army kettle at Walmart in Wallaceburg.

Rob Simpson, head of the group, stood for a 10-hour shift.

He was joined by Pastor Brian Horrobin, who was dressed as a baboon.

“Our theme was the Padre goes ‘ape’ on the kettle at Walmart,” Simpson said.

Joining them was Rotary Club President Sussan Londry.

The Wallaceburg Veterans, First Responders and Families Support Group volunteers at the first and last full day of kettles at the Wallaceburg Walmart.

The group also provides drivers to give free rides to those getting Salvation Army Christmas Hampers.

There was several members who came out to help.
