Significant snowfall possible Monday

A special weather statement has been issued in Chatham-Kent, as snow, at times heavy, will develop Monday morning and persist into Monday night.

Forecasters say total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible by late Monday night.

Snow may be mixed with or change to rain Monday evening, Environment Canada officials stated.

Travel may become hazardous due to the reduced visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow.

There may be an impact on the commute Monday evening.

A snowfall warning may be required as the system approaches.

This snow is associated with an Alberta Clipper tracking over Southern Ontario on Monday.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
