Jitske Tamminga

Tamminga: Jitske (Buist), formerly of Florence, was ushered into glory by her Lord on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the age of 84. Born in Zuidhorn, The Netherlands, Jitske spent her first 42 years there before making a new home in Canada with her family on May 5, 1977 where she continued to joyfully and faithfully serve her Saviour, family, and community for the next 42 years, before being received into her eternal home.

Jitske was the daughter of the late Willem and Dieuwke (Aalfs) Buist and beloved wife of Talo Tamminga. Devoted mother of Talo (Dineke), Bill (Marian), Jake (Lorraine), Rene, daughter-in-law Marsha Tamminga, Diane Bergsma (Allan), Gerry (Dawn), Hilco (Ann).

Loving Oma to Chris, Amanda(Harvey), Jared (Sarina), Danielle (Dustin), Ken (Rebecca), Jenise (fiancé Rudy VanGoor), Eric (Natalie), Adrian, Heidi, Lucas (Angela), Esther (Nathan), Bethany, Caleb, Levi, Dustin (Jessica), Dalles (Michelle), Jordan, Jesse (fiancé Nicole DeBoer), Charity, Brooklyn, Jasper, Jobina, Desiree, Dean, Lakem, Jayelle, Landon, Lincoln, Langley, Natalia, Jodi, Josh (Justinne), Kyle, Lauren, Nathan, Annika, and great-grandchildren Eden, Jordynn, Bria, Jude, Keira, Blair, Maverick, Faith and Benjamin.

Dear sister of Hillie Meijer (Late Henk), Tine Mulder (Late Ake), Rien Geertsema (Marten). Predeceased by sisters Rens Renkema (Late Marten, Jantje DeHaan (Late Sietse).

The Tamminga family will receive family and friends at the Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed Church, 483 McNaughton Ave. E., Chatham on Thursday from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed Church on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Internment at Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville.
