Transit shelters targeted by thieves once again

Vandalism on a transit shelter in Chatham-Kent occurred for a second time last week.

Municipal officials say on May 8, 2019, a solar panel was stolen from the CK Transit Shelter located at the corner of William Street North and Murray Street (across from the Chatham Cultural Centre) in the Community of Chatham.

To assist the public with identifying possible suspicious activity, there is only one company (Mountain Shelter Solutions) that should be installing/removing solar panels, or conducting general maintenance on CKTransit owned shelters.

If anyone has any information about this recent theft or witnessed any suspicious activity, please contact Chatham-Kent Police Services immediately.
