Police: Washing machine stolen, traffic enforcement

Theft of washing machine in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime last night, unknown suspects stole a white ‘coin-matic’ industrial sized front loading washing machine from the laundry room in the basement of an apartment building on Wallace Street.

Value of the washing machine has been estimated at $2,000.

A second washing machine was also damaged as they attempted to remove coins from the machine, causing about $500 damage.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Murray Street and located a man in the vehicle wanted by OPP.

The 43-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and turned over to OPP for court purposes.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man wanted by London Police.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was turned over to officers from London for court purposes.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, the Traffic Unit conducted enforcement in Chatham around the Orchard Heights construction area.

No infractions were observed.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, members of Community Patrol conducted traffic enforcement on Wheatley Road.

Two drivers was stopped and charged with speeding.

Theft of tools in Chatham Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and last night at 7 p.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a shed on Darrell Line and stole approximately $300 worth of wrenches.
