Celebrate Ontario’s bounty of local food during the 6th annual Local Food Week June 3-9, 2019 with your students!
Local Food Week is a celebration of fresh, healthy food grown, produced and processed right in Ontario by our local farmers.
The week gives communities the opportunity to highlight their local agriculture and food industry. Local food week promotes the more than 200 different products grown and produced by Ontario farmers.
This year to help teachers and students celebrate Local Food Week in 2019, AgScape is offering resources and programs for both elementary and secondary classrooms. Students can play either one or both of AgScape’s interactive and gamified resources.
Students will learn about:
Local foods that are grown in Ontario
Food choices and healthy eating facts
Sustainable farming practices
Environmental initiatives
