Police: Pedestrian struck by car, lottery ticket theft

Motorist charged after colliding with pedestrian

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday, June 12 at approximately 8:57 a.m., a female driver was backing out of a driveway on Wellington Street in Wallaceburg.

The driver failed to notice a pedestrian who was operating a scooter behind the vehicle and collided with it.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported to Sydenham District Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Female arrested for theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, June 8, 2019 a woman entered a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham and stole a bottle of vodka.

The woman and the theft was identified on surveillance video and police were called.

Chatham-Kent Police attempted to locate the female but were unable to do so.

On Wednesday, June 12, the female attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was arrested for Theft Under $5,000.

The 23-year-old Chatham woman was released with a future court date of July 3, 2019.

Bail violator arrested in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 a 37-year-old female appeared before the courts after being charged with a criminal offence.

She was released on a recognizance with a number of conditions including one the prohibited her from attending an address on Park Avenue West in Chatham.

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at approximately 9:35 p.m., an officer on general patrol observed this female standing in the driveway of the residence she was not to attend.

The female was subsequently arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Female arrested on an outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday, June 2, 2019, a female and male attended a convenience store in Wallaceburg and stole a large quantity of lottery tickets.

Police were called and were able to identify the individuals through video surveillance. As they were not able to be located, a warrant was issued for their arrest.

Yesterday, June 12, at approximately 11:34 p.m., police located the female hiding in a closet of a Wallace Street residence in Wallaceburg.

The 35-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested for the theft and released with a future court date of July 5, 2019.
