Man arrested on warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In February and in March of 2019, a man was released from custody with conditions.

One of his conditions was not to possess or consume any unlawful drugs or substances.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2019 a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest after an investigation revealed he was responsible for a break and enter on Park Avenue E. in Chatham.

On Friday at 4 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man enter a business on Thames Street.

The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested on the warrant and searched.

Illicit drugs were located within a pocket of the man’s pants during the search.

Through further investigation, it was learned that the man had multiple warrants for his arrest.

Therefore, he was arrested and charged with the following offences:

– Failing to comply x 3

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Man arrested on a warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday at 3 p.m. the 26-year-old Chatham man attended CKPS Headquarters to turn himself in.

The man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to comply.

He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Man arrested for being intoxicated in public

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning at 2 a.m. officers attended a bar on Grand Avenue E. due to a report of a disturbance.

Police located an intoxicated man who was unable to care for himself.

Therefore, the 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to CKPS Headquarters where he was held until sober.

Requesting public’s assistance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime throughout the night of June 27, 2019 two construction trailers parked on Riverview Drive in Chatham were broken into.

A variety of tools valued at approximately $10,000 were stolen from those trailers.
