Pair charged with communicating with each other

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 7:30 a.m. police responded to the report of a vehicle in the ditch on New Scotland Line near Hill Road.

Upon police arrival, a man and woman were found walking westbound in the area of Antrim Road.

Through investigation, police confirmed that the pair were together in the vehicle when it got stuck in the ditch as they attempted to turn around on the roadway.

The 33-year-old London man and 32-year-old Creemore woman were both arrested and charged with failing to comply as they were both on conditions not to communicate with each other.

They have both been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The vehicle was towed from the ditch and did not sustain any damage.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 16, 2019 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to possess any tools deemed as break in instruments.

On May 5, 2019 the man was released from Court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Shortly after 9 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed the man riding a bicycle in the area of Thames Street and Fifth Street in Chatham.

The man was stopped for HTA violations and arrested for breaching his curfew condition.

Upon being searched, the man was found to be in possession of a multi-tool, flashlight, metal snips, wrench, sawzall blade, spark plug and methamphetamine.

The 35-year-old Chatham man has been charged with drug possession and two counts of failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police observed a man in a parking lot on Thames Street in Chatham wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.

A 60-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with fraud under $5,000 and uttering a forged document.

He was released pending a future court date of July 10, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police located a man wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.

A 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime.

He was released pending a future court date of July 17, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 5:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man wanted in connection with a domestic investigation riding his bike on Thames Street in Chatham.

The 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motorcycle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 10 a.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Merlin Road near Riverview Line.

The driver, a 51-year-old Amherstburg man, lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a stop sign at the intersection.

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and transferred to Windsor for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

The collision remains under investigation.

Collision in Harwich Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 11 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Creek Road between Maynard Line and English Line.

The driver of the car, sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention.

The driver was also charged with careless driving.

The driver of the farm sprayer was charged with making a turn not in safety.
