Mark Williams was in the spotlight on Sunday at Dresden Raceway as he reeled off three winners including driving Cayo Loco to victory in the Ken Houston Memorial Pace in 1:57.4.

“It was an honour to win this race. Kenny was a great guy. He was good for
Dresden and good for Dresden Raceway, Williams said, adding, “He would
stand at the fence by the paddock and yell ‘Go get’em Mark’. It was a sad day when he passed away.”

Dresden native Houston passed away in March 2018 after a battle with cancer.

He played nine seasons in the NHL with Atlanta, Calgary, Washington and Los Angeles.

The rugged winger was also a staple at Dresden Raceway through the years and enjoyed harness racing as a fan and an owner.

He owned several horses included Fish My Pal, Hosit the Colours and OSS Winner Spare Time Warrior.

Williams also won the first two dashes of the day with Evening Job and Sweet Queen Cole.

The total live handle at Dresden Raceway was $26,304
