Police: ‘Wanted List’ arrest, thefts, curfew breach

Man arrested from ‘Wanted List’

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police received information from an observant citizen that a man on the Wanted List was currently leaving a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham in a van.

Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Oldfield Line near Prince Albert Road.

Through investigation, police confirmed that the man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions, property related offences, assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance and failing to attend court.

The 24-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 9, 2019 the woman was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that she was to reside at a specific address in Chatham.

On September 21, 2019 officers attended this address to conduct a compliance check.

At this time, officers learned that the woman was no longer living there.

Last night, police located the woman on Forest Street in Chatham and she was arrested.

The 23-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man breaches curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, just before midnight, an officer on general patrol observed the man riding his bicycle with improper lighting on Murray Street near Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The officer stopped the man for this Highway Traffic Act offence.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was currently bound by a curfew and that he was also wanted for breaching his Probation Order, property related offences and failing to attend court.

The 50-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been charged with failing to comply with his curfew.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of building materials

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 8 a.m. unknown suspects entered a building under construction on Queen Street in Chatham and stole:

– 6 sheets of 4×9 silver board

– 25 pieces of 2×4 lumber

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,000.

Theft of golf clubs in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between September 25 and September 28, unknown suspects entered a garage on Dahlia Drive and stole a set of Callaway golf clubs valued at $1,000.
