Police: Bail violations, theft in Chatham

Bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning an officer on patrol in Wallaceburg located a male on Wallace Street who was known to be breaching his Recognizance as he was on a curfew.

The 26-year-old male was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he is to be held pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning police responded to a call at a residence on Prince Street in Chatham.

Through investigation an officer found a male party at the residence to be breaching his probation conditions as he was not to attend the residence.

The 29-year male was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he is to be held pending a bail hearing.

Theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham in regards to a theft complaint.

The male had concealed merchandise and left the business without paying.

The male was located by police in the area and he attempted to flee on foot.

The 37-year-old male was located a short time later and arrested.

The male was transported to police headquarters where he was later released pending a future court date.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening police responded to a residence on Orchard Heights in Chatham.

A male at the residence was found to be intoxicated and was refusing to go back into his residence when directed by police.

The 52-year-old male was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held until sober.
