Eliza “Lisa” Hunter formerly of Wallaceburg

Mrs. Eliza “Lisa” Hunter, a resident of Chatham, formerly of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 85.

She was born in the Netherlands and was a daughter of the late Alex and Bertha (Colpaart) VanWaterschoot.

Beloved wife of the late Robert Hunter (2013) and Charles Hereygers (1977).

Loving mother of Ingrid Deprez, Karen (Mike Lewies) Doherty, Jim (Monica) Hereygers and Jeff Hereygers.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren Chris, Shaun, Alyssa, Madison, Shanon, Marshall, Ashley, Natasha and 9 great grandchildren.

Kind sister and sister-in-law of Henriette (Leo) Desmit, Carla Peterson, Marylou VanDaele, Mary Agnes (Brian) Bogaert, Pete (Linda) VanWaterschoot and Hugo Menheere.

Predeceased by her son Richard Hereygers (1996), a sister Hilda Menheere, two brother-in-law Kent Peterson and Jerry VanDaele.

Eliza “Lisa” was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and a volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary and Fairfield Park.

Following her wishes, cremation will take place.

Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 7-9 p.m and on Saturday morning from 10-11am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, in Wallaceburg at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society may be left at the funeral home.
