Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 8 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man on Emma Street in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was wanted for failing to attend court in September.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, two boxes of .22 cal long rifle ammunition and a counterfeit $100 bill.

The 40-year-old Chatham man was charged with unauthorized possession of ammunition, possession of counterfeit money and two counts of drug possession.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
