Police: School bus crash, ATV stolen, impaired driving

Collision involving school bus

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision involving a school bus on Cartier Place in Chatham.

A total of 11 students were on the bus at the time of the collision, luckily no one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

The collision remains under investigation.

Man damages vehicle in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday morning, the man was observed grabbing a large wooden pallet and throwing it at an SUV parked in a lot on James Street.

The vehicle sustained about $1000 damage in scratches and dents.

The 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a man wanted for uttering threats, assault with a weapon, mischief, theft of motor vehicle and breach of probation.

The 27-year-old Blenheim man was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a man wanted for domestic related offences.

The 24-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 19, 2019 the woman was released from Court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that she was not to communicate with a specific family member or attend her residence in Chatham.

Yesterday afternoon, the woman attended the home and began banging on the door while yelling at her family member.

Police were contacted and the woman was removed from the property.

The 33-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Talbot Trail near Hill Road.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

Breaths tests were conducted and the 21-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with dangerous operation and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of December 11, 2019 and turned over to OPP for execution of an outstanding warrant.

Youth charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance on James Street in Wallaceburg.

A 17-year-old Wallaceburg teen was arrested after damaging a vehicle belonging to another teen known to her with a bat.

She has been charged with assault with a weapon, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief.

She was released pending a future court date of December 16, 2019.

Theft of ATV in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning around 5 a.m. unknown suspects stole a camo coloured 2012 Suzuki 750 ATV from a residence on McGregor Line.

The ATV was last seen with license plate 09XE0 and is valued at approximately $10,000.

Also stolen from the shed was a Stihl gas powered chainsaw valued at $500.
