Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, just before 6 p.m. emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Longwoods Road near Fairfield Line.

The driver at fault and her passenger were both transported to hospital for medical attention.

Total damage was estimated at $30,000.

The 25-year-old Chatham woman was charged with careless driving and driving with no license.

She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with her probation order.

She was released pending a future court date of January 29, 2020.

Woman charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 18, 2019 a woman attended No Frills in Chatham and concealed over $200 worth of meat in her grocery bags.

The woman exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the meat.

Through investigation, police identified the woman responsible and she was arrested yesterday morning.

A 39-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

She was released pending a future court date of January 21, 2020.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

A 35-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

She was released pending a future court date of January 31, 2020.

Man charged with refusing roadside test

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a traffic complaint in Chatham.

Officers located the SUV in a parking lot on St. Clair Street and through investigation believed the man was driving with a young teen in the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The 43-year-old Harwich Township man refused to provide a sample of his breath into an approved screening device.

He was charged and released pending a future court date of February 5, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early yesterday morning, a man wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 31-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol located a man in an alleyway near Fourth Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was wanted for failing to attend court.

The 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police located two people on Park Avenue in Chatham who were both wanted on outstanding warrants. A 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for property related offences and failing to attend court.

A 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at Walmart in Wallaceburg last month.

Both were released pending a future court date of January 21, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a man wanted for drug related offences and failing to attend court was arrested by Canadian Border Services at the Walpole Island crossing.

The 35-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, a man wanted for failing to comply with his curfew attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
