Special weather statement

Snow and ice pellets possible tonight into Thursday.

A low from Texas is expected to move towards the lower Great Lakes on Thursday.

Snow associated with the low will arrive tonight, and may turn to ice pellets across the region before coming to an end later Thursday. There is also a risk of freezing rain. Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible.

There is still some uncertainty as to the exact track of the low, which will affect how far north into the region the ice pellets or freezing rain will occur.

The Thursday morning commute to work may be affected.

Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation. Appropriate weather warnings may be issued as this event draws closer.
