Riversite Realty is under new ownership in Wallaceburg

Riversite Realty is under new ownership, as the Wallaceburg real estate business has been purchased by Peter and Kim Allaer.

Dana Haggith caught up with Dick Primeau, the longtime owner of the business, and Peter Allaer for an interview. Listen, here:

It was early in the 1950’s that Maurice Sullivan established Sullivan Real Estate in downtown Wallaceburg.

By the 1970’s, Maurice’s son, Barry, took over the business and bought the Century 21 franchise.

Following this, Barry Sullivan partnered with Bob Warwick and by 1982 Bob took over the real estate company and renamed it Riversite Realty.

While these changes were happening, Dick Primeau, after having worked at Century 21 with Barry Sullivan for two years, started his own company of Primeau Real Estate and opened an office on Margaret Avenue in 1985.

In 1995, Dick and Cheryl had the opportunity to purchase Riversite Realty from Bob and Isabel Warwick.

After moving his company to the Riversite location at 639 James Street, the company continued to grow and flourish under his steady leadership until the present time.

Primeau says the success in bringing two companies together falls mainly on the loyalty and commitment of everyone, past and present, who have worked for him and with him.

Now, the next chapter for Riversite Realty is starting with this new decade.

Peter and Kim Allaer have taken over the ownership of Riversite Realty to continue its success into the future.

Peter started working with Riversite on September 1, 2013.

Since then, he has become a big part of the Riversite team, and he and Dick have been moving toward this transition for a few years.

“I have enjoyed my time working with Dick and the rest of the team, and I have big shoes to fill,” Peter says.

“I have lived and worked in this community my whole life and I look forward to continuing to do so.”

The company will remain at its current location on James Street.

“Not much will change; all the current realtors are here to stay and we aren’t letting Dick go too far either,” Peter added.
