Police: B&E in Morpeth, assault, warrant, breach

Warrant in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 21, 2020 a Chatham man was caught on surveillance at a Queen St. business concealing property and leaving the premises without making any attempt to pay for the items.

On February 8, 2020 the 37-year-old man was located and arrested for theft and possession under $5,000.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was processed and released with a future court date.

Assault in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 8, 2020 police attended a Chatham address in regards to a domestic dispute.

Through investigation of the incident a 37-year-old male was arrested and charged with assault with weapon and assault.

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held for bail.

Breach of recognizance in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 8, 2020 police conducted a traffic stop in Wallaceburg.

The male driver was found in the company of a female contrary to previous recognizance release conditions.

The man was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was processed and released with a future court date.

Break and enter in Morpeth

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 9, 2020 police responded to a suspicious person call on Bates Line in Morpeth after the
homeowners alarm was set off and it was determined that their garage had been entered.

Officers followed footprints in the snow covering a large area.

During the track police located several discarded items by the suspects.

The tracks were followed for approximately an hour and a half, resulting in
two male parties being apprehended.

One of the men was also on a recognizance with a curfew condition.

The investigation is on going at this time as several other break and enters were discovered as well as thefts and damage.

Both parties will be facing numerous charges.
