Woman arrested from ‘Wanted List’

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol observed a woman at a local convenience store in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions, theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, obstruct police, breach of probation and failing to attend court.

The 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the homeowner was wanted for failing to attend court in February.

A 63-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and released pending a future court date of March 18, 2020.

A 20-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of March 18, 2020.

Vehicle collides with John McGregor Secondary School

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 7 p.m. last night, emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Cecile Avenue in Chatham.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, collided with the school building, causing about $20,000 damage.

Luckily, he was not injured.

No charges were laid as the collision occurred on private property.

The school is open today, however access to the damaged area will be restricted for safety reasons.
