Wallaceburg Christian School also closing due to COVID-19

Wallaceburg Christian School is following suit and closing their school until April, due to COVID-19 concerns.

“Given the recent announcement from the Ministry of Education to close all public schools from March 14 to April 5, 2020, the Admin Team and the Board have made the decision to also close our school for those dates,” schools officials said on social media.

“We will closely monitor updates from the government, public health, and Edvance Christian Schools Association. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our students and staff.”

Wallaceburg Christian School officials say teachers are sending a letter to parents outlining the expectations for work to be done at home following March Break.

“Teachers will communicate with parents via Class Dojo or Remind or email,” school officials stated.

“We’ll communicate any further details about our plans as soon as they develop. You’re welcome to send us any questions. Thank you for your patience and collaboration as we continue to support your children and their learning.”

March break was extended two weeks across Ontario due to COVID-19.

Premier Doug Ford, Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education, issued a statement on Thursday. Read it, here.
