Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre closing due to COVID-19 concerns

The Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre is closing due to COVID-19 concerns.

“(Chatham-Kent’s) Medical Officer has declared a local emergency to control the spread of COVID-19,” Paul Cherrey, president of the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre and their directors said in a statement on their website.

“We feel it is important to do our part and help protect the health of our members, guests, volunteers and staff,” Cherrey said.

“As of March 17th, 2020 all programs, activities and functions at the centre will be suspended. The Centre will be closed (until) further notice.”

Cherrey said depending on the information to come, it is unclear when the centre will re-open.

“But we look forward to that time,” Cherrey added.

“Thank you for your understanding in this matter.”

Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, ordered various measures on Friday, March 13 to control the spread of COVID-19 and he also declared a local emergency as a result. Details, here & here.
