Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Chatham, Louisville and Wallaceburg.

A total of 380 vehicles were stopped with one person arrested for driving while under suspension.

Two roadside tests were administered.

No one was charged with impaired driving.

Woman breaches curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 15, 2020 a woman was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that she was to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Last Friday night, police attended the women’s home around 11 p.m. and learned that she was not home.

Yesterday morning, police located the woman in Chatham.

A 28-year-old Blenheim woman has been charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was released pending a future court date of May 26, 2020.

Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance in the area of Cornhill Street and Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the man assaulted his girlfriend.

The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of May 27, 2020.

Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, OPP located a man wanted in connection with gas drive-offs.

A 44-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

He was released pending a future court date of May 26, 2020.

Stolen truck in Thamesville

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Monday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 12:30 p.m. unknown suspects stole a dark grey 2018 Ford F-150 pick-up truck from a residence on Ann Street.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 77FR18.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage on King Street West and stole various tools.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the past week, unknown suspects entered a storage unit on Richmond Street and stole a television and box of watches.

Motor vehicle collision in Wheatley

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Erie Street North near Talbot Road.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 59-year-old man was charged with making a turn not in safety.
