OPP: Erratic driving leads to impaired charges on Hwy. 40

Chatham-Kent OPP pfficials allege: On Sunday March 15, 2020 at approximately 1:56 a.m. members of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped an erratic driver on Highway 40 north of Chatham.

Police discovered that the male driver had been drinking and was subsequently issued a road side breathalyser, which he failed.

As a result the driver, a 42-year-old Oakville man was arrested and charged with the following:

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8, 2020 in Chatham.
