Marguerite Butler

Butler, Marguerite, a resident of Thamesville and formerly of R.R. 3 Florence, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Ted Butler (2016). Cherished and loving mother to Lonnie Butler (the late Lois), Thomas Butler, and Cyndy Herrington (Ken). Grandmother to Shawn Butler, Chris Butler (Jennifer), Jeff Butler (Karissa), Joel Butler, Aaron Butler (Laura), Toni Sanders (Craig), Bradley Herrington (Ashley), and great-grandmother to Nicholas, Emily, Gregg, Devon, Chloe, Blake, Nathan, Adalyn, and Leeson. Predeceased by her siblings Marion Shepley, Mildred Elliott, and John Leeson. Marguerite was one of the most loving, devoted, courageous, strong, talented, patient, practical lady. She was a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, to whom she loved each dearly. She took such pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of her favourite enjoyments was watching her great-grandchildren play together. Marguerite was the Matriarch of our family, the one that brought us all together. Her talents were endless, from teaching school, an egg farmer, farm wife, volunteer, quilting, sewing, knitting, cooking, a great baker, and most of all being a mother. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Palliative Care Unit. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
