Police: Theft at Wallaceburg business, curfew, MVC

Theft in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects forced their way into a shed at The Clubhouse at Baldoon on Dufferin Avenue.

Once inside, the suspects stole a leaf blower and weed wacker.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $700.

Traffic stop leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before midnight last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue near Bluewater Line.

Through investigation, the officer learned that a passenger in the vehicle was out past his curfew.

A 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He was released pending a future court date of June 10, 2020.

Theft from vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage on Thelma Avenue and stole the following items from a vehicle parked inside:

– Mac Book

– Various tools

– Dolce Gabbana sunglasses

– Ray-Ban sunglasses

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $10,000.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Jane Street near Chatham Street in Blenheim.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

A 17-year-old Blenheim teen was charged with failing to yield the right of way.
