Wallaceburg Councillors holding online ‘Zoom’ meeting

Wallaceburg’s Councillors are heading online this week for their usual pre-Council meeting chat.

Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall are hosting a virtual meeting using the Zoom Video Communications app on Friday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“Councillor Carmen McGregor and I will be taking our community chat online this week, as we continue to practice and follow social distancing procedures amid this COVID-19 pandemic,” Hall posted on social media.

The two Chatham-Kent Councillors will be discussing the agenda for the upcoming Municipality of Chatham-Kent Council meeting, which is set to be held virtually on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 6 p.m.

“Councillor McGregor and I are firm believers in engaging with the community and we won’t let the COVID-19 situation deter us from doing so,” Hall wrote.

“This virtual meeting will be a bit of a work in progress and we ask for your patience as we navigate through it.”

Hall posted up some instructions for people to take part in the meeting:

– Sign up with ZOOM for free, here: https://zoom.us/ or in the App Store on your mobile device.

– Once you’ve downloaded the App or the program on your computer, you can join the meeting they’ve setup, here: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/605558948

– The meeting ID # is 605 558 948

“There are options to video chat with us, ask us questions, or send private or group messages within the meeting… or people can simply log in and listen to the conversation,” Hall wrote.

McGregor and Hall have been holding meetings on the Friday’s before Chatham-Kent Council meetings, ever since the election in 2018. The pair generally meet in local coffee shops or other businesses and they invite the public to join them.

The agenda for Monday’s April 6, 2020 Chatham-Kent Council meeting will be posted on Thursday morning, April 2,2020, here.
