Chatham-Kent’s libraries remaining closed until further notice

In a continued effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, all branches of Chatham-Kent Public Library will remain closed until further notice.

Municipal officials say all library programming and events, such as books clubs and storytimes, are cancelled at all CKPL library branches.

This includes all Income Tax Clinic appointments.

Due dates have been extended for items already checked out and overdue fines will not accrue during the closure.

The ability to place holds on items has been paused, and holds that are ready and waiting in the branches will be held until the library reopens.

Library card expiry dates will also be extended.

CKPL invites the public to explore the virtual library of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies and music by visiting www.ckpl.ca/download.

“If you don’t have a library card, don’t worry,” Municipal officials stated.

“You can apply for a temporary card at www.ckpl.ca/virtualcards.”
