Arrest warrant leads to drug charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a man on Sandys Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The man was arrested on the outstanding warrant and upon being searched incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of suspected Fentanyl along with a large amount of Canadian cash.

The man was also in the company of a woman, with whom he is on conditions not to contact or communicate with.

The 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of drug trafficking and failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 39-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was additionally charged with being a party to an offence by facilitating a breach.

Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police located a man in Wallaceburg who was wanted by OPP.

The 51-year-old man was arrested and turned over to Chatham-Kent OPP for court purposes.

Theft of trailer in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Friday at 11:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a black 18’ tandem axle trailer from a business on Cathcart Street.

The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate Y17661.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3,000.
