Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 27, 2020 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to contact and attend bail supervision appointments as required.

The man failed to do so and was arrested yesterday.

A 42-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of June 16, 2020.

Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier this month, a woman reported that she was receiving numerous unwanted texts and Facebook messages from her ex-boyfriend.

The man was cautioned by police to cease all communication with the woman.

Yesterday, police received information that the man had sent the woman another Facebook message.

The 45-year-old Highgate man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment.

He was released pending a future court date of July 22, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, a man wanted for property and fraud related offences, failing to comply with his release conditions, breaching his Probation Order and failing to attend court was arrested in St. Thomas.

The 34-year-old man was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police responded to the report of a suspicious man near a business on Talbot Street in Blenheim.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

A 59-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and released pending a future court date of July 14, 2020.

Stolen car in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, unknown suspects stole a 2006 purple Chevrolet HHR (heritage high roof) from a residence on George Street.

The car was last seen with Ontario license plates BVPL 821.

Theft of electronics in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Wednesday at 9 p.m. and Thursday at 7 a.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a residence on Park Avenue West in Chatham, causing about $50 damage.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole:

– pair of Air Jordan shoes

– PS4 gaming system

– Hisense Smart TV

– iRobot vacuum

– GT Mountain Bicycle (neon green)

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $4,300.
