Dresden’s new splash pad receives Council support

Dresden’s new splash pad will receive similar benefits to other splash pads across Chatham-Kent, after a Council decision on Monday, April 27, 2020.

North Kent Councillor Jamie McGrail’s motion received unanimous approval.

“Given that the Dresden Kinsmen Community Splash Pad Committee plans to have the splash pad at Kinsmen Park up and running this year, they be granted paid water and hydro operating costs by Chatham-Kent similar to that provided to the Blenheim Rotary Club and the Merlin Kinsmen Club,” McGrail said in her motion.

The committee announced back on January 24 of this year that they have raised a total of $115,064.28 so far for the project.

The group has held multiple fundraisers since launching the idea back in late 2018.
