Sunflower sales celebrating Port Lambton’s 200th anniversary

Port Lambton is looking to brighten up the community with a sunflower sale, as part of their 200th anniversary celebrations.

Anne Hazzard, one of the organizers, said the sunflower was a perfect choice to mark the occasion.

The ‘Sunbelievable Brown-Eyed Girl Helianthus’ can be purchased in two ways:

– Five-inch pots, which can be added to people’s garden or patio planters
are $6.99 each.

– 12-inch to 15-inch pre-planted patio pots, which includes one sunflower and two additional plants, are $25.

Organizers say the plants will grow to 30″ height and 40″ width.

Plants will be delivered to a central Port Lambton location for timed pick-ups.

Delivery and pick up dates are between June 11 and 13.

There are a limited number of plants available, organizers say.

To place an order, call or text Hazzard at 519-784-1623.

Anyone interested are being asked to leave their full name, phone number and the type and number of plants. Payment will be made to Degroots Nursery, just prior to delivery.
