Dresden Exhibition cancelled due to COVID-19

The 145th annual Dresden Exhibition has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

“We’re really disappointed,” Carolyn Brown, a board member for the Dresden Agricultural Society, told the Sydenham Current.

“We put a lot of work into it, to make it bigger and better… it’s hard. Everybody is let down.”

The event had been scheduled to take place from July 24 to July 26, 2020.

Bill Brown, the second vice president for the Dresden Agricultural Society, said with the various COVID-19 measures and precautions in place, the decision was essentially made for them.

“Everybody else was cancelling their fairs… we had our meeting (on Tuesday, May 12) at 7:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. our midway called and cancelled,” Brown said.

On top of the fair being cancelled, the Agricultural Society office is also closed due to COVID-19.
