Dresden Raceway is open for training for all horses not stabled on the grounds effective immediately.
Track officials say any trainers wishing to ship horses to the track for training purposes are allowed to ship and train every morning from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
“All people on the backstretch must wear a mask while in the backstretch until they are on the track with the horse,” Dresden Raceway officials said in a press release.
“When on the track with a horse the mask can be removed but must be replaced when exiting the track.”
All trainers not stabled on Dresden Raceway grounds are asked to used the ship in barn or Barn 6 for stabling while training.
Dresden will have nine live race cards starting June 7 and running through August 3 with a new post time of 1 p.m.
The most notable COVID-19 precaution is that fans will not be allowed on Dresden Raceway property during the races, as under orders from the Province of Ontario.
Fans who are still looking to get their fix will be able to watch races as they will be streamed live at www.dresdenraceway.ca and live viewing and wagering will be available on the HPI Network.
