Neighbour dispute leads to weapon charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a neighbour dispute in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was shooting an airsoft gun towards his neighbour’s house.

The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released pending a future court date of August 5, 2020.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In April, a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not communicate with a specific Chatham woman.

Last night, the woman reported to police that the man was attempting to speak with her via Facebook Messenger.

While speaking to police, the man attempted to video chat with the woman.

The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested early this morning and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Charing Cross.

An officer on general patrol located the vehicle on Middle Line.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and through investigation suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

A roadside breath test was administered and the man failed.

The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 42-year-old Charing Cross man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of June 16, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a woman in Wallaceburg who was wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions.

A 31-year-old Walpole Island woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of August 5, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a woman wanted for drug possession, failing to attend court and for her fingerprints was arrested in Windsor.

The 40-year-old Wheatley woman was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man wanted for breach of probation and failing to attend court, riding his bike in the area of Park Avenue and Queen Street in Chatham.

The 46-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with suspended driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man known to be suspended, driving a car on Keil Drive near Richmond Street in Chatham.

A traffic stop was initiated and the 40-year-old Blenheim man was charged with two counts of driving while under suspension.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on August 5, 2020.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
