Dresden Raceway starting their 2020 season on Sunday

When starter Dave Prior calls the horses behind the gate for Sunday’s first race it will be a different feeling as Ontario’s Little Saratoga’s grandstand will be empty.

“It will be different with no fans at Dresden,” said driver Tyler Borth in a press release.

“It’s a track where you can feel the excitement of the fans because they are so close to the track.”

Borth added he is hoping for a good season this year in Dresden.

“I have to be on the top of my game because we have some good drivers at that little track but I know I will be competitive.”

Dresden Raceway’s Opening Day card will feature 10 races as horses and drivers compete for over $41,000 in purses.

The track will be getting some attention from American betters as the signal will be broadcast on betting sites, Twin Spires, TVG and Ibet.com.

Post time for the first race is slated for 1 p.m. and qualifiers will be held at 11 a.m. with all COVID-19 protocols in place.
