Gary Monstrey of Wallaceburg

Gary Wayne Leon Monstrey, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the CKHA with the loving arms of his wife Paulette wrapped tightly around him.

Gary was born in Chatham, the son of the late Yvonne (1990) & Walter (2003) Monstrey.

Loving father of Byron (Shari) of Belle River and Duane (Mike) of London and two grandchildren, Drake whose smile can brighten any day and Miles whose big blue eyes melted his heart.

He is also survived by a sister Vera McIntyre (Tom 2020), a niece, a nephew and one very special fur baby Gabrielle who enjoyed nothing better than snoozing next to him in the big chair.

Gary was an employee of Oxford Automotive (Formerly Eaton-Yale) for 38 years and then Home Depot, work he referred to as his second dream job.

Gary enjoyed fishing on Mitchell’s Bay with his boys, camping with the family, always car rides and dinner out with his love of 51 years, Paulette.

Thank you to all of our friends for your love, support and all of the care workers, PSW’s, the VON, nurses and doctors that have cared for Gary with compassion and Love.

Your kindness will always be cherished.

We are truly blessed.

Due to Covid-19, cremation has taken place and a proper celebration of Gary’s life will be announced at a later date.

The HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent Humane Society may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca.
