911 call leads to impaired driving charges in St. Clair

Lambton OPP officials allege: On June 6, 2020 at approximately 8 a.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call from a concerned citizen in relation to a possible impaired driver on St. Clair Parkway in St. Clair Township.

Lambton OPP located the vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided samples over three times the legal limit.

A 29-year-old St. Clair Township woman has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on September 7, 2020.
