Provincial Offences Court matters for March 16 & September 11 adjourned

Municipal officials say all matters at the Chatham-Kent Provincial Offences Court from March 16 and September 11 will be adjourned and a new date will be sent to the defendant.

“If you have a matter on these dates or are required to attend as a witness, please do not attend court,” Municipal officials said in an update on the Chatham-Kent website on July 6, 2020.

Back on May 19, Municipal officials said in an effort to protect their employees and the public, and to help prevent the spread of COVID 19, they would be closing their office to the public.

“However, staff are still working and are available to answer your questions by phone or e-mail,” Municipal officials say.

Here are the steps people should follow:

– Call their office at 519-352-8484 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

– E-mail them at CKpoc@chatham-kent.ca.

– Fax them at 519-352-7979.

– Requests for trials and payments (except for cash) you can leave in the drop box by the front door.

– Signed documents can be left in the drop box at the front door, faxed, e-mailed, or mailed.

– Payments can be mailed or they will take credit card payments over the phone, or you can pay at www.paytickets.ca (not debit/credit cards)
